Animal Collective: a band I love to hear, but don’t always love to see. Frankly, if there’s not a great light show involved, there’s a good chance that I’m not going to be that into watching Animal Collective’s set. And true to form, Animal Collective’s Bonnaroo set sounded fantastic… but wasn’t much to watch. I mean really, who wants to see them play in the hottest, brightest venue you can imagine? Yeah. I wouldn’t either. Personally I would have been thrilled beyond believe to have them headline Thursday night with a sweet light show in the tents rather than sweat it out in the oppressive Manchester sun.
Still, they sounded great.
