Matador just posted some info on the new Yo La Tengo album Popular Songs. Gotta say, this first MP3 has me waaay excited for it.

I’m not the biggest fan of Yo La Tengo, but if you don’t like this song my immediate suspicion would be that you’re lying. This song is the marriage of ’60s R&B cool with indie rock cerebralism. It’s the perfect match! Plus the keyboard solo sounds like Bernie Worrell’s keys were run through a distortion pedal… and then he had a heart attack. Wicked.
