The first time I saw Bishop Allen (back in 2004, literally a week or two after starting this blog) they played two covers: the Modern Lovers’ “Roadrunner” as a soundcheck and the Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer” in their regular set. Since then I’ve seen the play exactly zero (0) covers live. For that reason I always get extra excited when I run across covers like this one of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours-opening “Second Hand News.”

I’ve always really dug “Second Hand News.” When I inherited my mom’s cassette of Rumours along with her car, I took to it immediately — probably because I’d never heard it before and had heard each of the singles about a million times. Bishop Allen do a great job with it and that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.
