Good news for Elephant 6 collective followers or psychedelic fans: the E6 collaborative album/movie Major Organ and the Adding Machine is getting an expanded release this fall. The DVD will be what you saw preceeding their Holiday Surprise shows and the CD is getting expanded into a double album.

The movie is a lot better than I thought it would be. It’s weird weird weird (not Christmas on Mars weird) but I completely enjoyed it stone cold sober. It would, however, but a great addition to any house who has children or acid-takers. But really it’s just a wacky tale of some kids who play hide and seek… and then things get weird.

The above song isn’t the best representation of the album, but it’s not too bad. The record has contributions from just about everyone from the Athens side of the E6 family: Eric Harris (The Olivia Tremor Control, Elf Power), Andrew Reiger (Elf Power), Jeff Mangum (Neutral Milk Hotel), Kevin Barnes (Of Montreal), Heather McIntosh (Japancakes, The Instruments, Lil Wayne), and Laura Carter (Elf Power).
