Man, I’ve been listening to the Dirty Projectors for years now — ever since Owen Pallett suggested them to me after a Final Fantasy show in 2006 — but 2009 is the year that they completely hijacked my brain. I still don’t have anything on Amrit’s fandom, but they’re far and away one of my favorite young bands. And as luck would have it, I get to see them play some songs from their mindblowingly great new album Bitte Orca this summer. Hopefully you can too.
