[MP3] new Deerhoof: “Let’s Dance the Jet”
(cover from the ‘67 film The Day The Fish Came Out)

If there’s one thing I love, it’s new Deerhoof songs. This one is a cover of a song that’s about 10 leagues too obscure for me to have unearthed. “Let’s Dance the Jet” is a cover of a song from the 1967 movie The Day the Fish Came Out. Here’s hoping it’s about a fish revealing his homosexuality to its parents (my other options are a variation of the Lorax or a MST3K-worthy horror film). Anyway, the tune is instrumental and a little bit different from what we’re used to hearing from Deerhoof. You could still pick it out as one of theirs, but it’s got a little extra flavor. This is definitely going on my summer driving mix to make me feel like I’m in some crazy Tarantino flick.
