Oh man, I almost forgot to post about Attempt’s show at Record Store Day. I’ve seen Trevor play in a bunch of different bands (including filling in ondrums for the Coup), but this was my first time catching his solo act Attempt. Gotta say, very impressive.

Attempt’s live sound is the product of a lot of looping and layering that Trevor does on guitar. While that approach often leaves me feeling that the guitarist is somewhat limited in what they can do, Trevor seemed very comfortable and able to rock out with the best of them. In a weird way, he reminded me of Spiritualized’s J. Spaceman.
