Thanks to Snakes Got a Blog for hipping me to Screaming Females. I’m going to need to download more songs to back up this claim, but “Bell” is a really awesome track that’s enabling me to adequately enjoy spring.

“Bell” has a sort of scraping pop sound that reminds me a bit of the earliest Yeah Yeah Yeahs I ever heard (I think it was their cover of the Liar’s “Mr You’re on Fire, Mr”) mixed with a touch of Siouxsie Sioux vocals. And this is one of those great songs where the lo-fi production really only benefits the song (except that the guitar solo would vastly benefit from a sweet mastering job).
