The Bicycles go on indefinite hiatus

March 30th, 2009 by Matt

In way sad news, I found out via Singing Lamb that Canadian pop act The Bicycles are going on indefinite hiatus. Most of the band will still be playing actively as a part of Gentleman Reg, Born Ruffians and Sebastien Grainger’s band, but that might be it for the Bicycles. I was actually shocked that we got a follow-up to the Good, the Bad and the Cuddly, so I consider us lucky to have Oh No, It’s Love.

MP3: The Bicycles – Won’t She Be Surprised

And just so I don’t imply that they’re more done than they actually are, here’s the exact words from the band’s myspace post:

little fyi: this friday’s cmw show at the horseshoe will be the last bicycles show for a loooong time… and… maybe… forever (or maybe not forever. you never know).

Here’s hoping it’s a very brief hiatus.
