ROD Thomas… not ROB Thomas. Just getting that out there early so it’ll clear up things in your RSS readers.

Rod Thomas was one of my SXSW takeaways, but it’s odd because I never actually saw him play. My friend Brad introduced me to Rod while we were hanging out in Austin and then I ran into him again later at 5am in the Austin airport. I checked him out on Myspace when I got home and was pretty pleasantly surprised.

This song makes me want to email The Boy Least Likely To or Noah and the Whale and let them know that I’ve got the perfect opening act to set them up with for their next tour. Maybe I’ll luck out and they’ve got a Google Alert on their band name. But even if not, at least I’m prepared for the day to come when they need my help. And if it never comes, at least I’ve got Rod Thomas’ music to hold me over.
