I didn’t know when I touched down in Austin that I’d find out about a great new band and see them twice within the week, but that’s exactly what happened with Pete and the Pirates. After an all-too-short WOXY session, I got to see the band a second time when they played the Filter/Blackberry party at the Cedar St Courtyard. And though I still didn’t know more than two of their songs, I’ve got to say that they continued to impress me with this second show. I don’t know when they’ll be back in the US, but I’ll be first in line to buy tickets if they come near Kentucky.
