Unlike the first time I saw The Thermals at SXSW, I didn’t have time to watch their full set. I only got to take in three or four songs before running off to see Echo and the Bunnymen. But like the first time, they were fantastic, very Ted Leo-ish and didn’t play “Pillar of Salt” during the time I was there. The Mohawk crowd was a little older than the Red7 crowd, so there wasn’t as much dancing and activity. But judging by the number of photos/videos taken by the crowd, they were probably digging it as much as I was.
