SXSW always yields amazing things, and covers are usually a safe bet. Lullabyes posted a recording of a MBAR set that included two covers. I got really excited to see that “Single Ladies” was the first track, until I realized it’s his bandmates singing it while they wait for Miles to get ready. The second, “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” is Miles closing the set with Otis Redding’s classic done mostly a capella. And between is a set full of great MBAR songs, so it’s really win-win.

Note: if you’ve never listened to MBAR, please please please don’t start with these covers. They’re probably the worst introduction to a good musician that you can find. Hit up his Myspace to hear some quality songs.
