I’m not going to lie to you people in an attempt to maintain a cool image (that possibility went out the window the moment I first started this site) — I totally dig Franz Ferdinand’s new record Tonight: Franz Ferdinand. After falling for their debut album, I soon got bored by their subsequent releases. Seeing them play at Bonnaroo 2007 helped me rekindle my love, but nothing that really lasted. But now they’ve given me a reason to care again. Tonight is an unexpected twist from their pre-established formula into a more Duran Duran direction (thanks to my coworker Eric — aka Casino vs Japan — for pointing out the similarity, especially to “Dream Again”). To cut it short: I dig the album and this song.
