Abigail Washburn & Sparrow Quartet to play Louisville
February 4th, 2009 by Matt
Seems like a no-brainer, since 1/4 of the group (Ben Sollee) is from Louisville. UofL’s School of Music roped in the critically acclaimed group — which includes Bela Fleck — for a performance at the Comstock Concert Hall February 15. I’ve never seen AW&SQ, but I’ve been told some very good things about their performance. [...]

February 2nd, 2009 by Matt
Deaf Indie Elephants just posted a great recording of Elbow playing with the BBC Concert Orchestra. [VIDEO] Bruce Springsteen’s Super Bowl Halftime Show
February 2nd, 2009 by Matt
Aside from the groan-inducing question “Is there anybody alive out there?,” the Boss’ halftime show was awesome. Also I called it that the opening song would be “10th Avenue Freeze-Out.” The second half of his performance can be found at Brooklyn Vegan, or you can just watch that crotch video one more time.

Bruce Springsteen’s crotch makes love to all of America
February 1st, 2009 by Matt
The only thing better than Bruce’s stage-slide turning into a crotch-hit to the camera is his grin after it. UPDATE: for best effect, watch this GIF while listening to The Clash’s “Police On My Back.” This should be a major motion picture…
