MGMT sues French government over use of song

After a little babelfishing, I think I get the basic idea of this article — which is that the French equivalent of the Republican party used MGMT’s song “Kids” to support their party (at a rally, I think) without MGMT’s permission. This is a little funny since the UMP are apparently the ones who strongly believe in hunting down internet pirates and respecting copyright laws. It’s even MORE funny now that MGMT has sued the UMP because of their differing principles (think James Taylor v. John McCain) and isn’t accepting being paid royalties as a way out. Whoops!

But MGMT + France isn’t always a bad thing. It did give us this…
