[MP3] Swan Lake: “A Hand at Dusk”

February 18th, 2009 by Matt

Today Pitchfork premiered a totally rad song off the new Swan Lake album Enemy Mine. An hour later, I woke up and enjoyed it; now I’m sharing it with you! Isn’t it wild the way the internet works…

MP3: Swan Lake – A Hand at Dusk
Spencer Krug is a magic man. How else do you think he can have about a release and a half average per year with groups Wolf Parade, Swan Lake and Sunset Rubdown? Well this time I think he reached down into one of the darkest recesses of his magician’s cap to pull out “A Hand at Dusk.” It’s a slow-burning piano piece that, is awesome, but doesn’t really give him a whole lot of room to move. The melody reminds me a little of Bowie’s coke years
