There’s been a lot of hubbub about the remastered re-release of the Beastie Boy’s album Paul’s Boutique. Some people are making a big deal out of it, but it’s time to set you straight: this is an even bigger deal than everyone is making it out to be. This is my favorite hip hop record and one long overdue for remastering.

When I first got Paul’s Boutique I looked at it as the key to unlocking a love of hip hop (it was) but figured that there had to be a remastered copy out there somewhere. Even though it had been around for over a dozen years, no one ever got around to remastering this classic record. That is, until now. Paul’s Boutique has been remastered and reissued on CD and vinyl and I would have to try very hard to be more excited. Luckily I can channel some of that elation into this contest for you all.
