Gorilla vs Bear finally turned me on to Here We Go Magic after a few tries. They’ve got a lot coming up in ’09, including a show in Kentucky at the Southgate House March 10.

“Tunnelvision” by Here We Go Magic is a great meld of some of my favorite ways to look at melody and composition. The vocals sound like they’re strongly influenced by Sigur Ros, the instrumentation sounds like a pulsing composition that Grizzly Bear might come up with, and the rest is just straight pop. It’s a great, simple song that I’ve found myself revisiting time and time again in the past week and figure I’ll be doing for many weeks to come.
