I sure did take a while to post on Madeline, but I’d at least like to think that my timing was appropriate. Madeline will be playing at Al’s Bar on January 10th. She also posted a message on her Myspace page that anyone who wants to make up fliers or convince a lot of friends to go to her Lex show (or her Jan 7 show in Chattanooga) will get in free and possibly get a free copy of her new album White Flag. Score.

This is how every girl playing guitar on the street in New Orleans probably thinks she sounds — voice soaring like an arrow, guitar providing a steady backing, and likely even that beautiful piano flourish echoing inside their head. But it’s not how they sound. Nine times out of ten, they sound like crap. Madeline, however, does sound like that. She sounds beautiful and she sounds delicate.
