While in New York, Justin from Aquarium Drunkard dropped Henry Clay People’s name like four times in one night. Well even though I’m often oblivious, even I was able to pick up on that one. There’s so much that’s right about the Henry Clay People. It’s like if you took a ton of bands that I either love or can find good thing in, chopped it up, picked out all your favorite bits, had a Maker’s and coke and reassembled them at your leisure. “Something in the Water” reminds me of a vastly improved Hold Steady (who normally bore me) with vocals by a reigned-in Thermals. Great stuff.
