For the longest time I thought that Noah and the Whale were going to be a one hit indie wonder. I mean “Five Years Time” is just fantastic, so it’s not out of the question, right? After mustering up the courage to listen to their full record and hopefully prove myself wrong — I proved myself wrong. The whole record is fantastic. Parts of it sound like the National and parts sound like I’m From Barcelona.
Here’s a video of one of my favorite songs on the album. It looks like Wes Anderson shot it (like all their videos), but it looks like Wes Anderson shot it as a lower than low budget grindhouse film for the 70s.
