Spinner just offered the title track of Deerhoof’s new album for download.

I’ll admit that the first few seconds set off the “NOT HOW DEERHOOF SOUNDS” alarms in my brain, but they were quickly silenced by the introduction of the guitars and vocals. It’d definitely one of Deerhoof’s smoother songs; but I got into the band with Milk Man, so I expect every song to sound like “Milking.” Really, I’d say this song is more about Satomi’s vocals than anything else. And in a band where the guitar, vocals and drumming are all some of the best and most unique out there, you really can’t go wrong by focusing on any part of it.
