I Guest I’m Floating just posted a good bootleg of Arms, which made me wonder what he sounds like on record. Turns out that he sounds pretty darn good on record.

I’m going to do something that I usually try to avoid: suggest Arms to people who are fans of Neutral Milk Hotel. It’s not that he sounds like Beirut or anything, but it’s just that the things I like about Arms are the same things that made me fall for Neutral Milk Hotel. He’s keeps it melodic at the heart of the song, but lets the rest of it run on the verge of chaos.
