Spoon @ Pitchfork 7.20.08
July 28th, 2008 by Matt
Spoon aren’t the best indie rock band out there, but they might be the most consistent. Their last couple albums have all been classic stuff that classic bands are made of. And after having seen them four or five times now, I can say that the same goes for their live shows. Each one is [...]

[VIDEO/MP3] Karl Blau: “Mockingbird Diet”
July 28th, 2008 by Matt
A few months ago Justin from Fishboy sent me a video he recorded of a new Karl Blau song that he played in Texas. I liked it, but apparently forgot to post on it. Well GvB gave me a good reminder yesterday by posting the studio version that’ll be on his new record Nature’s Got [...]

Dinosaur Jr. @ Pitchfork 7.20.08
July 27th, 2008 by Matt

Bon Iver @ Pitchfork 7.20.08
July 27th, 2008 by Matt
Again, curse of the late stage. The B stage was running behind, forcing me to cut my enjoyment of Bon Iver’s set short. What I caught was quite nice, though; I’m looking forward to seeing him for real.

July 26th, 2008 by Matt
I just got into Dexter earlier this year, but quickly caught up. Now the third season is primed and ready to go and I couldn’t be more excited. Apparently there’s a huge twist in the first episode of the new season, which airs

Spiritualized @ Pitchfork 7.20.08
July 26th, 2008 by Matt
Believe me when I say that Spiritualized’s set was the loudest thing I heard at the festival. Yeah, they were even louder than Boris. In fact it popped my ears through my earplugs. So even though their set started off beautifully, I had to get out from in front of the stage and go get [...]

Ghostface Killah and Raekwon @ Pitchfork 7.20.08
July 26th, 2008 by Matt
Introducing the Ghost. Face. Killaaaaaaaaaah! If I had the best sing-song introduction by one of the best rappers ever (Ol’ Dirty Bastard), I’d hire someone to play it on a boom box any time I walked into a room. But hey, I’ll settle for hearing it once during a Ghostface set. MP3: Wu-Tang Clan – [...]
