Unfortunately I underestimated the Dark Knight's running time last night and missed Grizzly Bear's performance on Letterman by about 10 minutes. Thankfully someone posted the audio just a short while ago.
UPDATE: Now with video!MP3:Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks (live on Letterman)
Let's not kid ourselves, Yellow House was top to bottom incredible. But even more amazing is the fact that every song they've released since then has been incredible. Friend was bananas good, "Blackcurrant Jam" is mindblowing, and "While You Wait for the Others" set a new bar for the band. Now "Two Weeks" has been played for a national audience and it just might be the best out of all of them.
"Two Weeks" is a little dark, but all beautiful. The keyboard riff calls to mind both 60s pop and merry-go-rounds, while the chorus feels like having Ed Droste personally tailor his melodies to soundtrack your trip down the rabbit hole. I can't wait to hear the full album next April.
Grizzly Bear on MyspaceFingers crossed that the video shows up soon. Now with video!
