Big sloppy wet kisses to Aquarium Drunkard for posting the Replacements’ Sh*t, Shower and Shave compilation that includes two nice covers. Naturally my favorite is going to be the Big Star cover, which rocks my face.

“We played that song because it’s almost September. Get it?” Gotta love the Replacements. Also, you pretty much are required by law to love Big Star. So while I thought Spoon covering the Smiths would be my favorite cover I’d discovered this week, I’m not so sure any more. The Replacements add a bit of wildness to this classic song and it comes out being as great (in a completely different way) as the original.
