I’ve never really been a big Cat Power fan. I mean, Chan’s pretty cute, but that’s about as far as my adoration goes. I will admit, however, that what I saw of her Bonnaroo set was quite good. I do miss the (alcoholic) singer-songwriter solo shows of years past, but she’s reinvented herself a a soulful chanteuse and it seems to be working well for her. And as much as I didn’t want to enjoy it, her cover of “Fortunate Son” was nice.
