[VIDEO] An interview with The Apples’ Robert Schneider

June 4th, 2008

A few weeks ago the Apples in Stereo headlined WRFL’s FreeKY festival. I did a photo story on the band for my final project in my photojounalism class (which I hope to post here one day) and so I’d spent a few days that week following the band through practices and recording sessions. A few days later their manager asked if I wanted to sit down with Robert and interview him on camera for YANP or a possible future DVD release. Who knows. But they were nice enough to chop it up and allow me to post some of it for you all to enjoy. Here’s Robert talking a little about the song selection for their new rarities compilation Electronic Projects for Musicians and the 10+ years that went into making the version of “Dreams” that appears on that compilation.

This is also a great time to point out that not only are the Apples in Stereo one of my favorite pop outfits, but they’re all terribly nice guys. Robert Schneider is like a ball of sunshine wrapped in a candy coating and put here on Earth to cheer up anyone he comes in contact with. If you attend an Apples in Stereo show, find him and say hey.
