Simian Mobile Disco @ Mess With Texas
I got a nice little compilation in the mail the other day. ThriveMix Presents Electro 2 has remixes by Justice, Simian Mobile Disco, SebastiAn, Cut Copy and almost two dozen others. Here’s one of my favorites from the comp.

Simian Mobile Disco’s stuff has a weird effect on me. Their last record Attack Sustain Decay Release is about a 50/50 split between material that makes me want to sit intently and listen to the song and stuff that makes me want to mindlessly dance (”Tits and Acid”). Yeah, “It’s the Beat” and “Hustler” are the two magic bullets that occupy both categories, but the rest fall pretty squarely in one of the two categories. Well this Go! Team remix is no different. Though the original is totally a feet-mover, I’d rather sit and let the sound wash over me rather than do any stomping to this remix.
