A friend sent me this nice little song on AIM today. Young Rival apparently used to be known as The Ride Theory (a band equally as unknown to me), but have switched up their name and just posted this demo to their myspace page.

There’s a lot rattling around in this song. It starts off like a lighter Black Rebel Motorcycle Club song before adding a melody that seems culled from a crop of Zombies-inspired Elliott Smith ones. All things considered, I’d say that it most reminds me of Favourite Sons. But whoever they’ve got rattling around in their record collection, it’s serving them well.
