Yesterday I wound up hanging out at a friend-of-a-friend’s house with an even mix of old friends and strangers. Before too long we rustled up some guitars and were playing everything from John Prine and Nancy Sinatra to Radiohead and the Proclaimers. My roommate has gained notoriety for his spirited takes on several CCR songs, including their cover of this classic. I figured it was fitting, then, to post this cover of “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” by the Features. Hopefully the show they played this at didn’t wind up getting busted by the cops like our outdoor assembly did.
