Here’s a cover that I snagged from Anyone’s Guess. I hadn’t heard this M. Ward cover of Bowie’s “Let’s Dance,” let alone was I aware of its existence. Apparently it’s tucked away at the end of Ward’s record Transfiguration of Vincent.

It’s great/strange/inspiring that Ward manages to take Bowie’s wacked-out dancefloor call and turn it into something you’d put on a mix to woo your sweetie in high school. And while Bowie is probably my put-a-gun-to-my-head favorite solo artist, I’ve never been a big fan of the original version of “Let’s Dance.” I don’t want to compare the two, but I will say that M. Ward’s cover is a refreshing version that rids the original of that ever-present 80s vibe. Bowie, I still love you, but they were an awkward time for all of us.

Joe over at Each Note Secure has some sweet photos of Grizzly Bear at MusicNOW. He and I have a running gag about how I’m always wildly jealous of his photos and hate my own. Well Joe, there’s a reason for that: photos like these.
Web comic Dr McNinja is getting insane in a great kind of way. Who knew I’d be such a big fan of ghost wizards shooting flying sharks. If you’re a fan of Scud the Disposable Assassin (which is wrapping up after yeeeaaars of hiatus), I’d suggest you check it out.
