In all my anticipation for the new Islands record Arm’s Way, I’d completely forgotten about this song. I’d heard it in a couple bootlegs and saw it live at our Hot Freaks! event. This, combined with “I Feel Evil (Creeping In),” has got me thinking that Arm’s Way is going to blow the last Islands record out of the water — and I really like that record.

I’ve got to say that I’m really digging on this new dark, sexy version of Islands. They switched over to dark clothes and a slightly darker sound. And while this record was hinted at by Nick as being a bit more out-there and less pop-oriented, the songs we’ve heard so far have sounded tighter than anything he’s done post-Unicorns* However, I do have to say that the part about the Creeper coming into his home made me think about Day Man a little bit. Still, that’s just more goodness stemming from this fantastic song.

*It’s probably tighter than most of the blissfully sloppy Unicorns songs, but I’m a hugehuge fan of that record and am blind to criticism of it.
