I’m so thrilled that last night’s Throw Me the Statue show actually happened. We’d had trouble finding them a venue and the show was in limbo until the Dame was able to rescue it a week or so ago. Glad they did, since it was a joy to have them in Lexington.

Watching Throw Me the Statue, I was reminded of my first times seeing two other bands; Oh No! Oh My! for the pop (and because TMTS’ Scott kind of looks like ON!OM!’s Greg) and Tapes ‘n Tapes for the rock. Not bad company to be in, as both bands are superfun live acts. Also I’d somehow forgotten that “Lolita” is one of the best pop songs of 2008. That song was so great that I wanted a rush of people to run in the Dame doors and start dancing. Sadly that didn’t go down, but I did have a little one of my own.
