Thursday kicked off with a full day at the Rhapsody Rocks event at the Mohawk. It was great to be back in a familiar setting, especially since it happened to be the Mohawk — my favorite midsize venue. British Sea Power got off to a slow start, but that just left them room to build. They busted out “No Lucifer” midway through the set, to much applause. I heard a few scattered people chanting out “Easy! Easy!,” which made me smile almost as much as the band’s homemade “No Lucifer” shirt did.
Finally the whole show erupted in a fit of madness as strings were pulled on guitars until they broke, horns were blasted everywhere (including into the guitars), microphone stands were shoved in pants and used like fishing lures, photos were taken and fun was had.
