The first band that I checked out while at SXSW this year was the Mae Shi. I had never checked them out before, but found them a pretty sweet kick-off to the week. Their energy reminded me of last year when I saw Thunderbirds Are Now! at our SXSW party. It was like TAN! but with a penchant for clothing removal. All and all, not too bad a beginning for the drunkest festival in America.
