Hulu.com: stream your favorite movies, TV shows legally

March 17th, 2008

Ah, it feels so good to be on the right side of the law. I do 90% of my tv watching from the internet (making an exception to catch Lost in real time). Most of the time that means looking around for medium quality streaming videos that keep getting taken down or waiting a day or two for someone to upload it to a torrent site. But I’m happy to say that I’ve found a new favorite way to get my fix: Hulu.com. Created by NBC and News Corp, Hulu has TV and film content from FOX, NBC, MGM, Sony, Warner and lots more. What’s that mean? It means that you can watch great quality episodes of The Office the day after they air. It means you can watch all of season three of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, which isn’t out on DVD yet, for free, right now. The price? A few 30- and 15-second commercials every ten minutes or so. Seriously, by the time you’re done saying “Aw, man. A commercial!,” it’ll be back to the movie.

Just for kicks, here’s a sample. This is the It’s Alway Sunny in Philadelphia episode “Dennis Looks Like a Registered Sex Offender” that I’d missed this season.

It’s not perfect, but it’s a great start. Now excuse me, if you will. I’m watching the Big Lebowski while I edit those SXSW photos.
