My First Time …with Seabear

first record you bought
the first record i bought with my own money was a used ‘it takes a nation of millions to hold us back’ by public enemy.

first record that changed your life
micheal jackson - bad

first musical obsession (band, song, singer, genre or otherwise)
micheal jackson. i really wanted to grow up to be micheal jackson when i was about 5-6-7 years old.

first concert you attended
the first one i remember was the sugarcubes in some park in iceland when i was really small.

first time playing live
i played with a band called the lovers without lovers. we opened up for the icelandic band rĂșnk that benni hemm hemm was in. we also played at a festival. i got a stomach ulcer after that. it was a joke band kind of and we almost never rehearsed so i was very nervous.

first tour
our first real tour was in november-december this year i would say. it was 3 weeks and we played every night and slept on a bus.

first instrument you learned and/or first piece of equipment you loved
i first learned the guitar. i think of equipment i would just say my computer. you can do alot just with the computer.

first band you were a part of
the one lovers. it was kind of a smaller version of the lovers without lovers. we used to record improvised songs onto a minidisc.

first time getting press and/or being interviewed
it was at the same time actually i think. it was when i self released an ep 2004 and it got review in the paper and there was an interview with me. it felt very weird seeing yourself in the paper and kind of embarrasing i thought. im used to it now though.

first song you wrote and/or recorded
the first one i wrote on my own was some two chord teenage song about a red submarine i think. i started making up songs as soon as i learned how to make a chord. i didn’t think it was very fun to play other peoples songs and the ones i made were also much easier to remember.

first awesome thing that happened solely because you were in a band
get to travel and meet nice people.

first reactions from your family when you played them your music
very supportive and nice.
