If you dig Canadian weird-pop like I do, SGAB should probably be your homepage (a comment I believe I made last time I posted on Miracle Fortress.) Still gotta say that it’s my second favorite cover they’ve done; that John Cale cover is just incredible.

I really, really did not expect to stumble into this cover in the late night hours, but that’s how great surprises work. Think About Life’s Graham Van Pelt proves yet again why his “main recording project” was one of my favorites of 2007. On this one, Graham paints an absolutely beautiful sonic landscape for this Daft Punk cover — leaving in the technologic melodies, but breathing a little organic life into it. It still wouldn’t be out of place in a DJ’s set, but it’s also something I’d desperately want them to bust out in their live shows.
