Headlights: “Cherry Tulips”
February 15th, 2008 by Matt

Let’s get this out of the way first: Headlights and Evangelicals are playing a show Saturday in Lexington at the Void skate shop.
I accidentally left that off the concert calendar because the Icehouse just got shut down. However, I’ve been assured that the show is still taking place, just with a change of venue. Good thing too, because I haven’t been to a show since the Halfway to Forecastle fest. Now to take a look at a record that has been critically overlooked around these parts.
MP3: Headlights – Cherry Tulips
I can’t think of a way to say this without implying that I didn’t like Headlights’ last record (I did!), but here goes: “Cherry Tulips” sounds very different, and it’s a good thing. I’m a sucker for harmonies and girl vocals that drift along on silky pop melodies, and those are here in spades. Headlights, you’ve done it again.
