I’ve always loved how Man Man uses voices to tell the story. I don’t mean lyrics either — that’s for real musical juniors. No, Man Man have always used their voices as just another weapon in their arsenal of madness. I mean, just listen to “Top Drawer” and tell me that Honus’ voice doesn’t let you know how he feels before the first sentence is done. He’s got all the madness of a hobo swinging a cat in a bag, but the wistfulness of one who knows he’s only insane because of some girl.
