After hitting up the fine people at the E6 Townhall, I’ve assembled every recorded copy of Of Montreal’s covers that I could get my hands on. It’s no secret that I think Of Montreal is one of the greatest contemporary bands; so consider this one way of celebrating that. The Of Montreal Covers Archive

Of Montreal also did a show that had over a dozen covers for New Year’s Eve 2009. The majority of those covers are above, but some were replaced by better quality recordings from other shows. You can download the full set here if you want the whole thing.

So that’s it! Sadly no audio from “Bat Macumba”, “Til There Was You” or “My Funny Valentine” yet. If you’ve got anything you don’t see here, feel free to leave a link in the comments or shoot me an email.

Back in my college radio days (1999) they did an in-studio where they covered “Tonight You Belong To Me” from the Jerk. Dottie and Derek did the singing. There’s a recording floating around somewhere.

of Montreal, wow. just heard of them at the turn of the year. within the year i have seen them 4 times and have almost all their records…. i have been searching for bootlegs and found this site so far. if you can help with complete shows i would sincerely appreciate it!

Thanks so much for this collection! FWIW, Flavorwire had “Smells Like Teen Spirit” on their list of “10 Songs That Should Never Be Covered Again”, BUT to their great credit, they did allude to how good Of Montreal’s cover is.
