Songs for No Country for Old Men

December 3rd, 2007

I finally got to see No Country for Old Men this weekend and was not disappointed. A friend of a friend said it was the best movie they’ve ever seen; I don’t know about that, but it hit me like few action films ever have. It kept my adrenaline pumping, gave me reason to care for the main characters and — at the risk of using the dreaded “it really makes you think” cliche — kept my mind occupied with more than shoot-em-up violence without beating the audience over the head with meaning. And though you might feel unhappy at the end, the last five minutes are undoubtably one of the best endings to a movie that I’ve seen
