Polyphonic Spree @ Bogart’s 10.15.07

October 18th, 2007 by Matt

Monday’s show at Bogart’s marked my first time in the Cincinnati venue and my fifth time seeing the Spree this year — kind of startling when you realize that I had never seen them and had only a handful of their songs prior to this year. Now I’m a fully converted addict who, it seems, will never tire of their orchestral pop beauty.

MP3: Polyphonic Spree – Running Away

My favorite non-music part of the night was probably Tim’s left field drug joke. I’ll paraphrase: “You know when you’re downtown in a city… Maybe it’s your first time in such a big city… and you go up to the tallest building and you put your chin on it and you look straight up. After a minute you think, ‘holy s—! this building is swaying!’ Then you look again, and the building is melting. That’s when realize that you’re really tripping.”
