I’m probably going to catch some flack for jumping the gun on this, but I get the feeling I’ll be justified in one month’s time.

So you may remember the Worried Noodles project, wherein musicians including Liars, David Byrne, Franz Ferdinand and Final Fantasy contribute their translations of David Shrigley’s songs.

Those songs previously existed only in lyrical form in his book Worried Noodles. Samples are being put online at WorriedNoodles.com, and Grizzly Bear’s “Blackcurrant Jam” snippet is just fantastic. Based on these few seconds (I haven’t bothered to download the half-song promo sampler that’s been leaked), I think this could be one of their best songs yet.
