Yeah, I posted this song about a month ago, but this needs to be brought up again. Why? Because these guys need to be heard.
I just got a promo copy of MGMT’s Oracular Spectacular and feel sorry for any music to be released in the next three weeks — I really don’t see my headphones playing much of anything else in the near future. But the kicker is, as good as this album is, it’s also pretty wacked-out weird. Ordinarily not a big problem, except MGMT somehow wound up on Columbia. So in my small attempt to help keep a major from chewing up and spitting out another budding musical talent, here’s a fantastic song from a fantastic record that you should all go spend your fantastic money on when it comes out.
“Kids” and “Weekend Wars” are two other fantastic tracks. If I’m not mistaken, “Kids” has popped up in one form or another on the last two MGMT EPs as well as their major label debut. That’s right, the song is that good.
