Back from Austin
September 17th, 2007 by Matt

Just got back from Austin. It was a far weirder trip that SXSW, but fun nonetheless. I’m sure you’ve heard all about the fire that injured four people during the first day of the festival. Nothing funny to be said there, but it did offer Dodge and I a good deal of confusion when we walked into the fest. I said that Bonnaroo has giant smoke rings that get sent into the air; Burning Man has huge fireballs and I thought Coachella did something similar. It wasn’t until after five minutes of gawking like the Kentucky boys we were, that an official announced from Pete Yorn’s stage that we all needed to move back. Here’s hoping that everyone wound up OK.
A handful of concert photos and reviews coming soon. I actually saw a startlingly low number of bands during my 40 or so hours in Austin. Of course it was quality that counted, so I was OK.
