I’ve been completely struck by Jay Reatard’s lo-fi pop songs ever since I first heard “All Over Again.” It’s like he’s taken the passion and vigor of youthful songwriting and mixed it well with natural skill; he’s like the Pavement of DIY pop music. His songs are complex, but always complete. Basically what I’m saying is, I’m a Jay Reatard fan.
Also, I love that Jay Z comes after Jay Reatard on my iTunes. That’s almost as good as Wynton Marsalis following Wu-Tang.
