Just in time for the start of school, YANP patron saint Kevin Barnes has posted this Royal Trux reinterpretation on the band’s Myspace page. Almost makes up for the lack of a Kentucky date.

Though Kevin always seems to take covers as his opportunity to stretch his sound out even more, we did get a few reference points in advance for this one. The lazy, LSD-drifting tune sounds a bit like his approach in “The Repudiated Immortals” and “I Was a Landscape in Your Dream.” After repeated listenings, the song starts to mess with your mind a bit (like school!) but through the wobbling haze, Kevin’s voice gives us our one — albeit delayed and reverbed — constant.
